EPISODE 1: THE HIMALAYAN FOOTHILLS (INDIA)
Les travels to Northern India to survive with no food, no water, no shelter and no camera crew. Leopards, snakes, territorial honey bees and the infamous Royal Bengal tiger all pose threats to Les’s survival. But the animals he’s been cautioned about the most? Wandering herds of wild elephants.
The constant threat of predators has Les surviving on high alert. He journeys small pathways through the forest, trails nomads have carved out over hundreds of years that lead to and from ancient jungle temples, in search of wild edibles and fresh water. This area is listed as the densest tiger territory in Northern India, so building shelter on the ground is not an option. He lights fire with elephant dung and endures sleepless nights by firelight, ever-vigilant for signs of tiger attack. It is a test of willpower and endurance: India is like nowhere Les has survived before.
EPISODE 2: CHALLENGED BY THE MASTER (FAN EPISODE)
For years, fans have been asking to join Les on a Survivorman shoot. Finally, Les has agreed. From over 200 applicants, Joe McConnell was selected to join Les on what proves to be a very difficult and challenging survival expedition. Blind-sided by poor survival skills, Joe struggles to keep up as he and Les trek through thick forest terrain burdened by heavy camera gear, but with no food, no water and no shelter. Joe quickly learns that real life survival isn’t as easy as Les makes it look on TV.
EPISODE 3: THE TRANSYLVANIAN ALPS (ROMANIA 1)
In part one, Les Stroud disappears into the forested Transylvanian Alps to test the skills of Romania’s top Search and Rescue Team, and himself.
Les Stroud has survived in the most challenging environments on the planet, but few compare to the isolation and disorientation he experiences surviving in Romania’s Transylvanian Alps. Steep mountain ranges with thick forest make this rugged terrain nearly impenetrable. Following abandoned logging roads, weighed down by heavy camera equipment and travelling alone with no food, water, fire or shelter, Les must prove once again why he is the King of Survival.
EPISODE 4: INJURED IN THE MOUNTAINS OF TRANSYLVANIA (ROMANIA 2)
In part two, Les simulates being medically stranded and lost in the forested Transylvanian Alps to test the skills of Romania’s top Search and Rescue Team.
Les feels totally trapped, immobilized by a simulated splintered leg and stranded in the dense mountainous terrain of Romania’s Transylvanian Alps. Romania’s renowned Search and Rescue Team are working around the clock to find him, but the thick forest cover has them looking for a needle in a haystack. Medically stranded with no food, water, fire or shelter, Romania proves to be a real survival challenge, even for someone as experienced as Les.
EPISODE 5: THE CONNE FAMILY ORDEAL (OREGON)
Survivorman Legends tells the real life stories of people who survived: those who suffered terribly but made it through and those who died trying. Here, Les mirrors the story of the Conne family: a father, mother and son who nearly perished when they got lost only 1700 ft. from their car near the west coast of Oregon. Les takes along his own surrogate family to make some of the same mistakes the Conne Family made, but on purpose. He also fixes some of the mistakes they made, too. Few of us can actually say what it feels like, can honestly say they know what it takes to survive. Safe and warm in our houses, the actions of others in survival situations often don’t even make sense — why didn’t they build a fire? Why didn’t they make shelter? Why didn’t they walk out? Les has said many times, unless you were there, you can’t know. This is Survivorman Legends.
EPISODE 6: TWO IN THE TROPICS (TONGA)
Stories of wrecked sailboats and lost sailors are as old as sea faring itself. Sailors have been lost, stranded, wrecked on reefs and crashed around in cyclones for centuries. Sadly, the story of Australian sailors Ian Thompson and Victorian Claus is one without a happy ending. Now, Les Stroud is tasked with reliving their South Pacific survival ordeal. Les strands himself on purpose, accompanied by his long-time survival buddy Bob Wilson, on a deserted island in the heart of the Kingdom of Tonga. They’ve grabbed ditch bags that contain a few survival items, but no fresh water, shelter or food. Les and Bob must rely on their extensive wilderness skills – and luck – if they hope to survive.
EPISODE 7: LOST ON PARK TRAILS (PATAGONIA)
When Les Stroud first launched Survivorman, adventure travel was not as prolific as it is today. Here and around the world, in places meant to inspire us to love nature, to get out and travel, tragedies occur. Tragedies occur because of casual attitudes taken towards wilderness adventure. The point of Survivorman has always been to teach the right way, the safe way, to instruct outdoor enthusiasts on when not take chances and not go over the top, to avoid landing oneself in peril. In this episode, Les travels to one of the most beautiful places on the planet – Patagonia, Chile – to make mistakes so that you don’t have to.
